Where is Santa?

Growing up I remember asking my mom so many questions about Santa.. Curious about the magical appearance that awaited Christmas night and how Santa made it all around the world in just one night!

Many boys and girls await Santa's arrival and are asking their parents these same questions; and technology has opened the door to a great way for parents to add to the magic by allowing them to Track Santa as he travels the world tonight!

Santa just arrived in Mindelo, Cape Verde, and will be in Natal, Brazil in the next 2 minutes!!

So, get the kids and let them experience another creative piece of technology that will allow them to see where Santa is right now!!

Toys that inspire creativity

As you all know, I love to draw and be creative; and my youngest daughter has a slight spark for it as well.   Every year I try to find the coolest gifts that inspire her creativity.   The past few years I have come across a few gifts that I play with time-to-time myself ((lol)).

Santa brought the Crayon Maker (from Crayola) last year and we had a blast playing with that; melting all of the broken crayons done and seeing who could make the coolest crayon was really fun.

I love Crayola, they have been coming out with some of the most creative toys that expand the creativity in kids.  I wanted to get the sidewalk paint so bad, but could never find it on the shelf.  I have seen a few of the new toys advertise that they have come out with (or had already) for this year and I think the Marker Airbrush will definitely find its way on Santa's List this year!

Check it the video of the latest commercial...

Now tell me... It that cool or what!!

What are some creative toys that you have seen this year?

I thought it was the most annoying thing EVER!

What an annoying sound.. I thought; so, I turned around to see if there was a problem with the channel!?

All I heard was cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.eeeeeeeese.

It was the most annoying thing EVER, but it got my attention!  It is the new Apple iPhone 5 commercial ad they have been showing lately; and the feature it is advertising, I think looks awesome!

(Take a second and watch the commercial before reading any further, if you don't mind)

I think this is the coolest feature; however, I love pictures so I would.  What do you think about being able to capture a picture this large right from your phone??  Who would have ever thought that technology would allow so many creative and fun things for us!

This would be a cool feature for classroom photo's and/or large families too.  I like the way you can print it and make a wall banner photo!  That would be a great present for a grandmother, with all the kids and grandkids; I just think gifts like that touch the heart more so than any store-bought thing could.

... So what do you think about this feature?  What would you do with it?  What other cool features does the iPhone 5 offer (or other devices), that are awesome?

Rendering with Daz 3D

I have been playing with the Daz Studio software and the rendering is awesome!  It is amazing how doing a render almost brings the creation to life.. I love it!   So, I decided to share a couple of things that I did after the render just to give you an idea of what an amateur can do (lol).  I can only imagine how much I can do once i get familiar with the software or have some extra time to dedicate to one project!

Have you tried Bryce 7?

Last night I was watching some video's on YouTube on Daz 3D and came across a few about Bryce 7; which is a software that allows you to create landscapes and scenes, which you can later plug-in to your Daz 3D creations!  How cool is that!!

Bryce 7 seems like an awesome piece of software, but I know I will have to play around with it a little before I can do the scenes that I seen. This tutorial video goes into great detail on the steps to take to create your buildings and city....

Well.. I could not resist downloading Blender 7 to try it!  I will let you all know how it turns out!

Do you have Bryce?  If so, what type of landscapes or scenes have you created?  What do you love about Bryce?

Creativity used to Empower Cancer Patients

Kayaking for Cancer (http://www.kayakingforcancer.com/) has found a creative way to empower kids and adults who have been diagnosed with cancer through Kayaking.  An 8 day camp that allows participants to face the rapids head on and overcome fears; relating in so many ways to the diagnosis they have received.  The camp also allows them to interact, share stories, and see that all of them are in the same place; and have the same fears about their diagnoses.

I think this is a great creative way to to bring the community together and encourage those diagnosed with cancer to enjoy life; and get meaning all at the same time!

Final Thought...
If you are or know someone that has been diagnosed with Cancer, check out the site; or if you would like to donate to help their cause you can on their site as well!

3D Stimulation ..

I was checking out some virtual technology; and came across some that is awesome.. 3D Stimulation; so, I thought I would share it with you all.

I came across this video on youtube that shows a 3D Training Simulation video.  This is a training tool created by Designing Digitally Inc. to teach stroke victims through virtual simulation technology.

(I'd like you to view the video before I go any further)

Using technology to train employee's this way is very creative! I watched a few the Designing Digitally has on their YouTube channel; and have to say that businesses could benefit from using this type of technology. However, I have to admit that the virtual college tours are awesome. This allows students to check out the campuses of the colleges they would like to attend right from the comfort of their own home.. How cool is that!? I would love to be a part of the digital designing world, it is amazing how technology can allow us to be creative and helpful all at once! So, if you are you are thinking about using something like this for your business; check out the Design Digitally website (in the above link) because they appear to know what they are doing!

My goal is to learn to build a game

I am currently in a Bach program in Web Design; and hopefully once I finish all of these "no point" (so it seems) classes, I will get to do some create things in  Web Design!!

However, my ultimate goal would be to build a video game.  I have fell in love with animation and how the web has endless possibilities!!

I have founds some really cool software on the internet that allows creativity; it's just finding the time to learn how most of it works, is the problem.  I know I have mentioned Daz 3D multiple times, but I love it!!  Even though I really don't get the chance to play with it too much.  However, I don't think that I could build a game in it, but I could be mistaken.

I was able to download the Kudo Game Lab for free, since I am a student.  This is an awesome game engine; but once again I have nor had the proper time to put into it, as of yet!

I think that there hasn't been anything that has jumped out at me, catching my attention enough.  What programs/software do you use?

My goal is to learn to build a game or something with 3D software within the next few years!!  So, I guess I need to get to work finding some awesome programs; and learn how to use them!

What are your favorite programs? Why?
